AFCEA Exhibition and GPEC 2022

Spring is fair time — in May JK Defence exhibited with AFCEA and GPEC at two trade fairs.

35. AFCEA Exhibition

On May 11-12, the 35th AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) exhibition took place in Bonn. Our MILCOM team was represented with new stand and systems and solutions around the topics of Tactical Radio Communication, SATCOM, Troposcatter and EW. The colleagues our TACTICAL team supported with an augmented reality module for retrofitting analog night vision systems.

With the L3Harris AN/PRC-167 and the RF-9820S we had two spectacular innovations from the field of tactical radio communication on our stand. For the first time, our new EW partners from the L3Harris family (formerly L3 TRL Technologies) with their brand new CORVUS system. Corvus is a family of mounted or dismounted EW systems. Based on open standards, CORVUS is an ultra-flexible, multi-role system that can host applications from force protection to detection and offensive cyber.

Following his presentation on modern troposcatters, our colleague Felix Wickenhäuser received a lot of attention. As an infrastructure less BLOS connection with high data rates and low latency, Troposcatter is a compelling alternative for reasons of resilience alone.

Our thanks go out to our customers and partners, who visited us numerously and made this 12th participation in the AFCEA exhibition the best so far.

Photonis TacFusion combines a high-performance low light sensor with a thermal image channel

GPEC

At the end of May the 12th GPEC (General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference) took place in Frankfurt. Our colleagues of TACTICAL presented a section of our portfolio in the field of tactical equipment specially tailored to the needs of the German law enforcement organisations. Our Breaching products and night vision systems were particularly popular.

In addition to the image intensifier goggle Theon NYX, highly successful at the Bundeswehr, Federal Police and State Police, we were also able to present its more compact 16 mm sister device, the Mikron-D. Both devices can be retrofitted with the Thermoteknix ClipIR to create a thermal image overlay.

With TacFusion Photonis offers an extremely popular device for observation purposes that overlays a high-performance Photonis low light sensor with a thermal image and is already successfully in use in German law enforcement.

The TACTICAL team would like to thank the numerous customers and partners and are already looking forward to the upcoming GPEC.
